Responsible for assisting in the increase of cash collections and the decrease of Accounts Receivables (AR) aging for designated plan(s) using effective and efficient collection techniques, including, but not limited to, the use of individual plan(s) escalation and/or appeal processes, patient and/or physician office contact. Understand and effectively interpret payer contracts, Remittance Advices (RA) and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements. Understand and follow processes needed to ensure clean claims are submitted timely using a third party claim editor system. Expected to have knowledge of insurance and billing forms and to have the ability to investigate and resolve debit and credit account balances.

Minimum experience required:

  • 3+ years of experience in Hospital Billing and Collections
  • Conducting daily research and follow up on unpaid claims for Managed Care and Government payers
  • Understands the reconsideration and appeal Payer processes
  • Knowledge of payer contracting and reimbursement
  • Detailed oriented
  • Oncology/Hematology billing and collection experience preferred
  • Claims Editor system experience

Estimated pay range for this position is %2415.00 - %2419.50/ hour depending on experience.

Degrees: High School,Cert,GED,Trn,Exper Additional Qualifications: Prior cashier, data entry, and 10 Key adding machine experience a plus. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of Windows O/S with general computer skills, and attention to detail. Experience with McKesson STAR or Soarian Financials a plus. Ability to analyze insurance carrier Explanations of Benefits and identify carrier denials and partial payments. Ability to identify and differentiate between carrier payments, contractual allowances, and patient responsibility. Ability to query and identify correct account for which payment(s) is to be applied. Possess good analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently in a team atmosphere. Excellent Time-Management skills. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in order to meet stringent deadlines. A minimum of 3-4 years office, banking, or healthcare receivables experience preferred. Minimum Required Experience:
