About this opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on, results-driven Director, Clear Aligner Revenue Accounting to play a key role within Align's revenue accounting team that will be integral to ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of revenue in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will report to the Senior Director of Revenue Management and will be instrumental to supporting the growing, global revenue function while also helping build scalable processes.
In this role, you will…
* Responsible for the worldwide revenue accounting for the Clear Aligner business to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of revenue according to US GAAP and company policies
•
* Responsible for the worldwide monthly revenue close for the Clear Aligner business and related promotion and discount programs
* Manage the month-end close process, which includes reviewing journal entries, revenue accruals, account reconciliations and preparing fluctuation analysis
* Directly manage the Clear Aligner Revenue Accounting team
* Ensure global revenue accounting policies and procedures are communicated and implemented in each international region
* Manage the quarterly deferred revenue estimates process
* Key Revenue team representative for the Clear Aligner business in the company's roadmap project process
* Support Clear Aligner management revenue reporting and support of external reporting
* Work collaboratively with Technical Revenue Accounting
* Work with external and internal auditors to provide the required support for the quarterly reviews and annual audit
* Foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional organizations including AR, Marketing, Sales, Corporate Finance, FP&A, IT, Legal and Cost Accounting
* Identify and implement business process improvements for the Clear Aligner revenue accounting cycle
* Lead ad hoc projects as needed
In this role, you'll need …
* 15+ years of combined experience in both public accounting and leading a revenue accounting team at a publicly traded company
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
* Licensed CPA preferred
* In-depth knowledge of revenue accounting related to multiple-element arrangements and accounting for customer discounts under ASC 606
* Direct management experience of global teams
* Experience managing global revenue process and involvement in Order to Cash cycle
* Experience developing and building teams
* Experience driving and implementing continuous improvements
SKILLS
* Ability to communicate complex revenue accounting requirements to Executive and non-Finance stakeholders
* Strong ERP and reporting system skills
* Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to partner with and influence personnel around the world and cross functionally
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment
* Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting goals and deadlines
* Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and ability to drive change
