This position qualifies for a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus

$2,000 sign-on bonus will be paid out:

$600 on the first pay period following your first day of employment

$1,400 on the first pay period following your 90th day of consecutive employment

Heartworks is currently seeking a Toddler Teacher to join our team in Burlington. Heartworks, STEAMworks & Loveworks, is a network of 6 preschools and early learning centers across Vermont. We prioritize employee experience and the total well-being of our teachers and leaders.

Our school director in Burlington carries more than 7 years of leadership experience and is a trusted and dedicated mentor.

Whether you have recently completed Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals, you're a field veteran, or you're looking to evolve your classroom experience, Heartworks, STEAMworks & Loveworks may be a great fit for you.

    • Eight-hour shift (openers typically arrive at 7 a.m.; closers typically stay until 5:30 p.m. - COVID precautions and policies may impact these hours).
    • Following and maintaining all state-mandated COVID precautions and policies for early learning centers.
    • Designated one-hour break per shift.
    • Following a set schedule that helps children establish healthy eating, sleeping, and bathroom routines.
    • Working in close contact with your co-teacher and school colleagues.
    • Implementing and evolving the Heartworks philosophy of teaching.

    • Demonstrate kindness and respect for self, others, and our community at-large.
    • Skilled in play-based learning approaches and social-emotional education.
    • Deliver required paperwork and completed lesson plans on time.

    • Adhere to all VT Public Health and Child Care Regulations.
    • Authorize state-required background check.
    • Act as mandated reporter, both on and off campus.
    • Help ensure classroom environments adhere to NAEYC's Anti-Bias Early Education.
    • Ability to stand, move, run, and play for the majority of the day.
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds multiple times a day.
    • A degree in Early Education, Elementary Education or related field; or at least 21 college credits that count for being a Teacher Associate level.
    • Previous experience of working in an early education environment is preferred.
    • Must be able to work a full-time schedule
