The Global Edge Consultants leaders within Oil and Gas Recruitment currently require a Rotating equipment engineer for a minimum 12-month contract. The rotating machinery engineer will provide engineering support for the detailed design and construction/implementation of the project related rotating equipment.
The Contractor will work in a multidiscipline team from the detailed design office location Houston.
The Contractor will provide rotating equipment discipline engineering input into one or more of the workstreams of the project during the define and execution phases of the project and be the responsible TA3 Rotating Equipment Engineer.
The engineer will form a key part of the commissioning team and will be a key player in start-up.
The candidate is required to have knowledge on various International Codes & Standards and DEPs.
Accountabilities HSSE Responsibilities
Ensure project comply with relevant HSSE legislative and Shell group requirements.
Report / Intervene any unsafe behavior or unsafe operating condition observed while working in the plant.
Participate in project HSSE reviews as and when necessary.
Ensure that all staff and contractors under his charge adhere to HSSE rules & regulations and procedures.
Provide Rotating Equipment Engineering input into the Execute phase of the project.
Provide guidance to the EPC contractor on rotating equipment engineering related matters during the Detailed Design phases of the project.
Conduct technical reviews as defined in the project assurance plan.
Rotating Equipment engineering support to the project risk and opportunity register.
Rotating equipment engineering support to the project flawless register.
Ensure lessons learned and best practices are incorporated during all phases of the project.
Interface management with the other facilities of the project in particular the Utilities and Offsite facilities & with other concurrently running projects.
Provide formal and informal progress reports.
Maintains close cooperation with the project team, process technology, operations, HSSE and discipline staff to ensure proper communication and integration of activities as well as close cooperation within the process team to ensure consistency of design around interfaces.
Ensure that lessons learned from other projects are taken into account in the design, adequate operational input is obtained when needed and that there is sufficient robustness in the design to cope with transient conditions (i.e. start up, shut downs, tripping of units).

Ensure implementation of EFA
Working EPCM contractors
The candidate is expected to possess a high level of competence in the knowledge of rotating equipment particularly in assessing the quality of deliverables and the acceptance level of installation/construction workmanship with respect to the performance of the EPCM discipline staff.
Required Experience Qualification
At least 8 years of professional experience delivering or supporting rotating equipment technology.
Rotating Equipment engineer with significant experience in oil/gas industry, i.e. in a refinery/chemical plant or central office.
A proven track record of results delivery in project environment.
Experience in the design and testing/verification of rotating machinery systems.
Experience in commissioning/start-up phase.
Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills- Good team working skills, a can do attitude and prepared to stretch personal and business goals.
The Rotating Equipment Engineer should have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Significant knowledge in the fields of rotating machinery, mathematics, risk management, and technology application is expected
Experience in Downstream Compression and Steam Turbine application is important and highly expected
