Job Summary: Help plan, coordinate, review, and revise technical publications per HAECO standards to ensure accuracy, and quality.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Review publications for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors.

2. Review publications for adherence to HAECO standards.

3. Review publications for content.

4. Confirm the revision level of engineering sources for writers.

5. Recommend changes to make content easier to understand.

6. Help plan the content of publications according to publication type and editorial policy.

7. Offer comments to improve the quality of department deliverables.

8. Work with writers to help their deliverables succeed.

9. Review and edit digital media and web-based documents.

Secondary Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned by the Technical Publications Supervisor.


Accountable to the Technical Publication Supervisor.

Job Qualifications:


1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

2. Eight years of experience as a technical writer.

3. Familiarity with ATA iSpec 2200 or S1000D format.

4. Computer skills [MS Word, Windows environment, Internet browser].

5. Must be fluent in English - read, write, speak and understand.

6. Must have excellent oral, written, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

7. Ability to read and comprehend written engineering, engineering drawings, and other technical data.

8. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with strong desire to work in a team.

9. Must be available for overtime and/or to work a flexible schedule, as job requirements dictate.


1. Four years' technical writing experience documenting modifications to transport category aircraft and/or manufacture of transport category aircraft assemblies, subassemblies, and/or components.

2. Expertise with aircraft technical manuals such as MM, IPC, SRM, etc. and the ATA iSpec 2200 format.

3. Expertise with FAA regulations, specifications, and related requirements.

4. Aircraft-related technical illustration experience.

5. Experience using FrameMaker.

6. Master's degree.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to sit and work effectively at a computer for extended periods of time.

2. Must be able to work assigned schedule with minimal absences.
