Sr IT Business Analyst

TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
Core Business Analyst Responsibilities
- Drive identification of requirements across business units and identify substandard system processes through analysis and evaluation
- Serve as thought leader for technical business processes, collaborate on developing forward-thinking systems prototypes and business processes that promote increased efficiency and productivity in the Enterprise
- Perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of projects
- Manage requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation processes to capture business and end user needs. Prioritize needs within and across projects based on business impact
- Support business case creation and work to create documentation required to get new projects and enhancements approved through Project Management Office (PMO)
- Communicate solution tradeoffs to business partners to frame and influence project decisions
- Engage delivery teams to communicate solution vision and priorities
- Promote architectural standards and consistency
- Promote usability standards and design solutions with a high-quality, effortless UX
- Proactively monitor industry, functional, and technology trends to guide business partners on emerging opportunities
- Assess the risks of solution options and develop plans to mitigate them
- Support enterprise digital strategy and organizational change management
- Define, set up, and execute test cases to validate that the solution meets functional and non-functional requirements
- Provide consultative support and advice on technology projects led by business partners
- Coach employees to make use of technology and information
Specialized Data Specialist Responsibilities
- Work with business partners to understand requirements for data use, analysis, and quality
- Identify and aggregate data from internal and external sources
- Guide solution design to meet data and integration requirements
- Envision future use cases for big data and roadmap solutions to fulfill those use cases
- Identify new opportunities to leverage data and to integrate data or applications to enhance business value
- Coordinate with data owners to ensure data accessibility and quality
- Contribute to management of central data stores and metadata
TEAMWORK & COMMUNICATION
- Superior & demonstrated team building & development skills to harness powerful teams
- Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of leadership within the organization
- Provide timely updates so that progress against each individual incident can be updated as required
- Write and review high quality technical documentation
CONTROL & AUDIT
- Ensures their workstation and all processes and procedures, follow organization standards
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Encourages and maintains a ‘Best practice sharing culture’, always striving to find ways to improve service and change mind set.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in IT, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of proven experience in an analytics and systems development capacity
- High proficiency with SQL language and database management
- Knowledge of data analysis and usage requirements
- Strong understanding of data and integration architecture
- Ability to guide solution design and architecture to meet business needs
- Proficiency in technology management
- Deep understanding of data analysis
- Analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of business context and objectives
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in plain language
- Influencing skills and demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes
- Experience with Business Analysis
- Prefer experience in other IT roles or functions such as quality assurance/testing, development, enterprise architecture, or project management
- Experience working on a project using Agile or iterative methods
- Prefer travel industry experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility in scheduling which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
