One At least 2 years of training and/or experience in hospital electronic billing. Must have prior hospital billing experience with Medicare and third party insurance carriers and be computer literate with proven ability to work effectively with others. Ability to investigate billing problems, find creative solutions and implement corrections efficiently.
EDUCATION: A Certificate or Degree in accounting or business administration is preferred.
The Hospital Medical Biller is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate billing to Medicare and all Thirty Party Insurances for eligible amounts and handling all accounts and billing issues/problems involved in this process. The Biller maintains an accurate Accounts Receivable, writes off account balances appropriately, enters Medicare Remittances, and handles the Petty Cash and the mail. The Biller also prepares and submits billing reports to the Business Office Director and performs various other duties as assigned.
