Primary Purpose:
Provide clerical and administrative support to both internal and external clients. Associates will be encouraged to grow into a Retail Stores Agent position. Resources will be provided to assist in becoming a licensed agent in their resident state within their first 60 days of employment. With successful completion of your P&C licensing exam and licensing appointment you will become a Retail Stores Agent and be responsible for the profitable growth and the attainment of business goals by marketing and servicing Direct Auto Products including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance to new and existing customers. Individuals in this role will assist walk-in customers, support office operations and market our products outside of the office via marketing calls and visits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to staff including handling inbound and outbound phone calls, reports, filing, researching and gathering information, and maintaining overall appearance of sales office
  • Assist customers with general questions, receive customer payments, issue receipts and verify balance/daily reports of receipts for cash drawers
  • Complete sales related activities which further the Direct Auto brand in the local market (outbound calls, car dealerships visit, local events, distribution of flyers, etc)
  • Prepare and send information to customers and lien holders as instructed by Agent or Lead Sales Agent
  • Contact customers regarding account status and renewals
  • Read and remain current on company guidelines, announcements, memos and bulletins related to company policy and procedure
Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Some prior experience in customer service, sales or administrative
  • If hired to become a Retail Stores Agent, must obtain active and valid Property/Casualty and Life Insurance licensure within 60 days of employment
  • Interest in pursuing Insurance sales license in your resident state
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • Friendly, outgoing, positive personality
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with internal and external clients at varying levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and provide excellent customer service
  • Experience or strong willingness to develop key relationships and market our products within community organizations and the local business community
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor Degree
  • Retail or business-to-consume sales experience
