* LANGUAGE SKILLS
BASIC - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

INTERMEDIATE - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
HIGH - Ability to write reports, business correspondence and produce manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers or the general public.
VERY HIGH - Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members from the business community
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

BASIC - Able to add, subtract, divide and multiply in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
INTERMEDIATE - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

HIGH - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

* ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Key Responsibilities:
* Referral Management:
* Coordinate and manage patient referrals from initial contact through to the appointment with the specialist.
* Ensure all necessary documentation and patient information is accurately collected and submitted.
* Track the progress of referrals and follow up as needed to ensure timely completion.
Communication:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and specialists regarding referral status.
* Communicate effectively with patients to explain the referral process and provide updates.
* Liaise with healthcare providers to clarify referral details and obtain additional information if required.
Data Management:
* Maintain and update referral records in the electronic health records (EHR) system.
* Generate reports on referral trends, volumes, and outcomes for management review.
* Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Process Improvement:
* Identify opportunities for improving the referral process and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
* Develop and update referral policies and procedures as needed.
* Provide training and support to staff on referral processes and best practices.
Leadership:
* Supervise and mentor a team of referral coordinators.
* Assign tasks and monitor team performance to ensure high standards of service are maintained.
* Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Skills:
* Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant software.
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is designated as a safety sensitive position.
Salary: $17.66 - $25.10
