Sr. Software Engineer

Nesco Engineering & IT is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work permanently in SUNNY Tucson, Arizona


Our client has an immediate opening for a Senior Software Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and proficiency in C/C++ and/or C#, LabVIEW and/or MATLAB. Candidates with a strong background in sensor applications including EO/IR and radar, data analysis, signal processing, tracking, machine learning and algorithm development are ideal for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement advanced signal and image processing algorithms to extract actionable information from remote sensing data

  • Design, develop, analyze, and test software applications from prototype to operational using modern software development languages and practices

  • Assess algorithm performance on real-world data

  • Document results via written reports and/or well-commented code

Required Qualifications:

  • GPU acceleration of image processing algorithms using CUDA

  • Experience with microcontrollers, TI DSP or ATMEL AVR devices

  • Xilinx FPGAs

  • LabVIEW and/or MATLAB

  • AGILE software development methodology

  • Experience in any of the following areas: sensor applications including EO/IR and radar, data analysis, signal processing, tracking, machine learning, algorithm development

  • Active/Recently inactive security clearance

  • Experience developing agile, maintainable, high performance software in C/C++ and/or C#

  • Familiarity with developmental environments for Linux and/or VxWorks

  • U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with multithreaded architectures, thread synchronization and queues

  • Understanding and experience achieving real-time performance of complex, data-intensive algorithms

  • Experience testing modular algorithm(s), identifying bottlenecks and exploit available hardware resources to their full potential;

  • Capacity to work in a team with minimal supervision and agility to work multiple potentially disparate projects simultaneously

  • Ability to present technical results to customers and at technical review meetings

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, physical sciences, engineering, or mathematics
