Purpose Summary?

The Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist will have a targeted focus on supporting schools with creating and implementing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies for partner school staff and students. The DEI Specialist is focused on helping to support staff engagement and understanding of critical DEI concepts and topics to support the school's culture as well as the ability to impact learners. The DEI Specialist will focus on ensuring schools have the tools to be effective and thrive with a?focus?on DEI as it impacts culture, data and process improvement.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities?

Data & Analytics?

+ Implement a DEI program that meets the needs of each school customer with a particular focus on initiatives that support across every indicator of student success;

+ Assess the effectiveness of the program through regular measures of culture, engagement, and satisfaction;

+ Identify trends in survey feedback and work with school leaders to develop and implement action plans to address?feedback;?

+ Conduct surveys throughout the year for schools and analyze/distribute?results;?

+ Investigate and collect staff and student data throughout the organization to create a holistic data story to influence?engagement;?

People??

+ Develops, coordinates and facilitates training and professional development to schools in order to build capacity in the application of DEI initiatives for both staff interactions and staff- learner interactions;

+ Build out DEI committees at each school and serve at the lead for those groups;

+ Create and implement resource groups targeting acceptance and understanding around diverse groups including but not limited to: race/ethnicity, gender, age, veterans, LGBTQA+;

+ Present, upon request of a School Leader, DEI materials, engagement initiatives, actions plans,?etc.?to a school?staff;??

+ Facilitate training for internal and external stakeholders on topics related to support schools with DEI initiatives and content;

Structure & Strategy??

+ Assist with the implementation of schoolwide and individual retention strategies and creation of associated?resources;??

+ Work collaboratively with members of CSP and other key teams to advocate for initiatives and processes that enhance the employee experience; and??

+ Ensure understanding of state laws as they apply to partner schools and support staff with appropriate implementation which balances school needs and legal requirements;

+ Other duties as assigned.?

Required Skills, Experience, and Competencies?

+ Minimum of 5 years of work experience in DEI

+ Experience working with K-12 students

+ Master's Degree preferred?

+ Excellent software skills, especially with Microsoft Office?

+ Strong analytical skills?

+ Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills?

+ Superior listening and?problem solving?skills?

+ Ability to work effectively both with and without supervision?

+ Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization?

+ Must thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, with ability to manage multiple, competing priorities?

+ Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work well in team environment?

Key relationships?

+ Collaborate with Customer Success Service Delivery and Business Operations teams to ensure appropriate support for schools

+ Collaborate with State Policy Support to implement legislation, regulations, and policies affecting partner schools

+ Collaboration with product and service delivery teams to meet customer expectations and requirements

+ Use of customer insight data with Customer Insight & Analytics Center of Expertise

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. As required by the Colorado and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

Minimum full-time salary range is between $62,000-$75,000.
