Derived Salary: $80K - $150K/Year
  • (Some occasional travel to datacenters and our office in Scottsdale, AZ may be required)

We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role will involve working with IP transit, Internet Exchanges, BGP, and other core networking protocols to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure.



Role Overview

As a Network Engineer at Astarte Industries, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to support the seamless operation of our online services. You will work with IP transit providers, manage BGP configurations, and optimize Internet Exchange (IX) connections to provide low-latency and high-availability network services. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a large-scale, high-performance network environment tailored for online gaming and content delivery.



Key Responsibilities

Network Design & Implementation:

  • • Design, implement, and manage IP transit and Internet Exchange (IX) connections to optimize network performance.
  • • Configure and maintain BGP routing policies, ensuring efficient traffic flow and redundancy.
  • • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and stability.
  • • Work closely with the infrastructure team to develop and maintain scalable network architectures that support current and future requirements.
  • • Optimize network performance for low latency and high availability, specifically tailored for content distribution and online gaming environments.
  • • Collaborate with network providers, data centers, and Internet Exchanges to optimize network peering and connectivity.


Security & Maintenance:

  • • Implement and maintain network security best practices, including DDoS mitigation, firewalls, and access controls.
  • • Perform regular network maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure reliability and security.
  • • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation and diagrams.


Requirements

Experience:

  • • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
  • • Strong knowledge of BGP, IP transit, Internet Exchanges, and network routing protocols.
  • • Experience with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or similar.


Technical Skills:

  • • Proficient in configuring and managing routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • • Experience with network monitoring tools and platforms (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds).
  • • Familiarity with network security best practices.
  • • Understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, subnetting, and related technologies.


Soft Skills:

  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.


Preferred (but not required):

  • • Experience in gaming or content deliver or other high-performance network environments.
