How will you make an impact?

As a Data Consultant, you will be a part of our Lender Insights team, reporting directly to the Team Manager. On a daily basis you will collaborate with other Data Consultants, Analytic Consultants, Project Lead, and clients to manage client needs. In addition, you can expect to be:
•Responsible for managing data loads and information for assigned clients, including but not limited to, standard processing, data manipulation, scrubbing, and reconciliation. Ensures data integrity and works with client on exceptions, anomalies, and other related issues.
•Develop and generate reports, statistics, and other information supporting monthly KPI information. Work directly with team members ensuring reliability and validity of client and supplemental data.
•Act as a subject matter expert for assigned client; ensure data knowledge, trends, and issues behind the data
•Responsible for the successful completion of assigned projects and creating detailed program documentation- keep management aware of progress and issues
•Perform troubleshooting of problems within databases, research issues, analyze business needs and identify possible solutions
•Perform routine checks and updates as necessary. Responsible for reliable back-up/recovery methodology and execution thereof.
•Defines data/information architecture standards, policies, and procedures for MGIC, structure of data elements, and applies accepted data content standards to projects.
•Responsible for generating targeted information in direct mail marketing campaigns for client

•May be responsible for mentoring and counseling junior staff

Do you have what it takes?

•Bachelors Degree (may substituted with 2 years experience beyond an Associate Degree) and 5 years complex work experience
•Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus
•Strong understanding of mortgage banking, mortgage origination, servicing systems, secondary marketing, and mortgage insurance
•Knowledge of data security practices, data management principles, data storage principles, data transfer methodologies, and financial calculations
•MS Office Suite – Access, Word and PowerPoint, in addition to extensive Excel experience including use of advanced features and functions: (i.e. visual basic, pivot tables, drop down boxes, offset, complex graphing, etc)
•Ability to perform coding and analysis in key software languages and tools – i.e., SAS, SQL
•Strong analytical skills to research information requests, perform analyses, and reconcile information to identify changes, inconsistencies, and/or trends.
•Ability to identify and analyze problems, research alternatives, interpret and explain issues, provide solutions, and follow through to completion.
•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment with critical deadlines
•Tableau Experience
