Our client is looking for a solid leader in the government contracting space, you will participate as a Sr. accountant on a team of experts and will be responsible for preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing, and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance as well as the regulatory reporting associated with government contracting. The selected candidate will bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments. Your responsibilities in this role

- Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

- Review and prepare cost reports in accordance with government Cost Accounting Standards.

- Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary

- Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

- Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes

- Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

- Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

- Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls

- Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process


- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

- 2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

- Familiarity with CAS and FAR reporting

- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

- High attention to detail

- Multi set of books experience highly valued

- Audit Compliance experience highly preferred

- Hands-on experience with Multiple Entities

- Comprehension of Multi-state Environment

- Multi-state tax experience preferred

- Adeptness in cost reduction analysis

- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)

- Cost analysis experience highly desired

- Good understanding of Government Audits

- Previous experience working with Regulatory Audits

- Cost Allocation experience

- Proficiency in cost accounting

- Earlier work involving Audit Requests

- Prior experience with reporting for multiple locations

- Experience with Multiple Asset Classes

- Demonstrated knowledge of direct/indirect rate calculations

- General familiarity with ASC 606

- Background working with Audit Reports

- Solid understanding of DFARS

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

- Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

- SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

- Skilled with ERP systems
