Eaton's Finance Technology team is currently hiring for a Lead Analyst - Finance Data Engineering - SAP FICO position. This position is based at one of the following locations; Moon Twp PA, Beachwood OH, Irvine CA, Galesburg MI, Highland IL, Arden NC, Syracuse NY, Charlotte NC, Ft Worth TX, or Tualatin OR. Hybrid remote work available.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will be joining our Finance Technology team within the Operations Finance & Transformation function. We are catalysts for change -- driving efficiencies, enabling innovation, and developing solutions to help our Eaton finance function deliver critical insights to our operations. As a member of the Finance Technology team, you will be embedded within our finance function to drive increased usage of modern technologies that will complement and enhance our existing financial systems landscape.

The Lead Analyst - Finance Data Engineering - SAP FICO is responsible for designing and developing finance technology solutions including financials analytics and automation independently leveraging his or her knowledge SAP data structures. The incumbent will partner with functional subject matter experts along with IT to create highly useful information for finance for high complexity projects.

This position will manage the development of high complexity reporting analytics, automations, and other new finance technology. This role is responsible for understanding, preparing, processing, and analyzing data to make the data valuable for financial decision-making purposes. The position should be able to develop highly useful insights from large amounts of data with no support from others. This role is responsible for technical activities including the following: requirement analysis, estimation, technical documentation, warranty support, programming, unit testing, system administration, monitoring, technical design, integration, and data quality standards.

To be successful in this role, the incumbent will have strong knowledge of SAP data and table structures and will use knowledge of business objectives, strategies, and needs to identify opportunities where data can be leveraged to achieve the desired business outcomes. The candidate will use advanced mathematical, statistical, and analytical expertise to research, collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from internal and external sources to provide insight and develop data driven solutions across finance.

The Lead Analyst - Finance Data Engineering - SAP FICO will also support the planning for future-state technology program investments and drive the application of emerging technologies to current Eaton environments. The incumbent will also provide guidance for larger teams of contractor resources and junior team members.

In this function you will:

* Understand functional requirements and complete the technical design, development, and delivery of finance technology solutions focused on analytics and automation that influence key business decisions related to pricing optimization, financial planning, and forecasting, working capital, and overall profitability strategy, while driving finance efficiency
* Execute the following: requirement analysis, estimation, technical documentation, warranty support, programming, unit testing, system administration, monitoring, technical design, integration, and data quality standards.
* Leverage SAP FICO knowledge to help other technology team members to accurately design and develop solutions.
* Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements; manipulate and scrutinize data applicable to finance use cases using tools such as SQL and Python; gathers data, organizes it, and uses it to reach meaningful conclusions for finance; able to ensure quality and accuracy of the data. This can include locating, profiling, cleansing, extracting, mapping, importing, transforming, validating or modeling.
* Able to identify facts and trends that are then processed, designed, and presented in a manner that helps business stakeholders to make better decisions.
* Demonstrate the desire to learn and apply new technical systems and concepts.
* Increase the usability and effectiveness across our reporting and data analysis finance systems and tools.
* Work with other data analyst, functional analysts, and data engineers to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
* Utilize advanced mathematical, statistical, and analytical expertise to research, collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from internal and external sources to provide insight and develop data driven solutions across finance.
* Use data science methodologies and advanced data visualization techniques to implement creative automation solutions across finance.
* Oversee the processes and systems used for data analysis and reporting.
* Communicates complex information so that it is easy to understand and influences other to take action based on the useful information provided.
* Implements and maintains decision support or master data management solutions.
* Has an understanding of current data context, processes and availability, and how current data processes and existing data can be leveraged to achieve the desired benefits.
* Applies query, data exploration and transformation, basic statistical methods and visualization techniques to create business insights or improve data quality.
* Participate in evaluation of new tools /modules (technologies) and benchmarking.
* Act as key participant and facilitator for business process improvement activities.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
* Minimum of 7 years of work experience in finance, data, IT, or reporting analytics
* Minimum of 3 years working with SAP financial data
* No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of one of the following locations; Beachwood OH, Southfield MI, Peachtree City GA, Raleigh NC, Menomonee Falls WI, or Moon Twp PA will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
* Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications:

* Intermediate to advanced level of SAP FICO knowledge
* Experience working in a global matrixed business environment preferred
* Hands on analytical tool skills preferred - Power BI (Business Intelligence), Power Apps, SAP BW (Business Warehouse), OBIEE, Tableau, Qlik, Dataiku, or Alteryx
* ETL (Extract Transform Load) tools such as Informatica
* Advanced experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, Java, or R.
* Experience developing creative and innovative analytical insights with high business value preferred

Position Criteria:

* Strong data wrangling skills
* Strong knowledge of how SAP data maps and how it is used
* Excellent data visualization and storytelling skills
* Able to extract insights from datasets using basic statistical methods
* Able to prototype ideas quickly and create reproducible workflows
* Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
* Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
* A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
* Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
