The Cyber Effects and Information Warfare (IW) Department (N142) is seeking a Group Leader for our Cyber Platforms Group. The Cyber Platforms Group is comprised of a diverse set of subject matter experts in Cryptography, ISR, Cyber Operations, Systems Engineering, Cyber Security and Defensive Cyber Effects. The Cyber Platforms group provides project and technical leadership across a variety of projects within N140 in support of multiple sponsors. Working with Dept Leadership, the GL will develop strategies to align these projects and tasks to Division goals, while ensuring collaboration and partnership across the work programs to maximize outcomes and impacts.

Group Leaders (GLs) are pivotal members of the department leadership team, primarily tasked with inspiring, coaching, and rewarding employees, enabling them to grow, thrive and prosper at MITRE. This position requires strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively supervise, develop, and manage team members. In addition, the candidate will ensure the delivery of quality technical products, staff development and placement, and provide input into the growth of the department work program. This includes the ability to engage with internal and external customers to build and lead a strong technical work program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Serve as Direct Supervisor (DS) and provide overall leadership for group members that facilitates the professional and career development of group staff through positive leadership, coaching, instruction, and mentoring
* Work with group members and their work leaders to develop impactful goals and associated performance measures that align with Department, Division, A&SFC, and Corporate Strategic Goals/Objectives
* Recognize, Reward, and execute Pay and Performance for Employees including conducting annual pay and performance conversations and delivering annual pay and performance statements to direct reports
* Work with group members on career development plans and make recommendations to the Department Manager for development and promotion opportunities
* Guide the development/deployment of Joint Cyber Warfighting capabilities and Cyber Security and Cyber Resilient Mission Infrastructure solutions in an agile manner to meet the speed of the evolving threat
* Help build and maintain a strong work program and technically proficient staff within the department and division
* Provide strong thought/technical leadership and serve as one of the domain experts in the group while actively contributing to the technical work program

Minimum Qualifications:

* Possess an active Top Secret security clearance.
* Eight years of experience with Cyber Systems and/or Cyber Operations
* BS in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related degree
* Strong interpersonal skills as well as effective verbal and written communication skills
* Demonstrated record of strong leadership skills
* Track record of innovative thinking
* Understanding of AF missions and operations
* Motivation to expand knowledge and skills and assume responsibility
* Ability to manage and guide staff in their professional development

Preferred Qualifications:

* Possess an active Top Secret / SCI security clearance
* Strong knowledge of A&SFC projects and divisions, and broad knowledge of AF cyber operations
* 2+ years of experience acting as a direct supervisor of a diverse technical team
* Familiarity with the cyber platform and the MITRE Research Program
* Demonstrated ability to work with sponsors at a senior level to identify key technical problems and opportunities
