Director, Marketing Strategy

POSITION SUMMARY:

MELIC Ventures is looking for an experienced product marketing leader to join our innovation team.  The candidate will drive go-to-market positioning and messaging, sales enablement and market research for incubated projects to accelerate path to commercialization. As a leader, you will influence, collaborate, and partner with many functions and at all levels across the company spanning our business units, sales, corporate marketing, IT and operations teams.

The ideal candidate is a proven product or solutions marketing leader with successful experience launching products with clear positioning and messaging.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Market modeling (TAM, SAM, SOM), analyzing market/technology trends.
  • Overseeing Go-To-Marketing strategy for current and new projects.
  • Positioning product messaging.
  • Developing User and Buyer personas.
  • Overseeing pricing architecture.
  • Developing strategy for lead generation, customer acquisition and communications.
  • Overseeing sales process.
  • Collaborating with corporate communications, marketing and sales teams on collateral to include presentations and demos.
  • Leading channel planning.
  • Partnering with product leadership to influence product and business strategy with a view of customer needs and market opportunities
  • Leading Go-To-Market PMM & In-Market PMM Business Strategy functions across the full lifecycle of the product.
  • Ensuring Management's vision is clearly understood and actions taken are consistent with achieving the vision.
  • Keeping Management up to date with the status of the job responsibilities list above.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of software product (SaaS) marketing experience including SaaS Unit Economics.
  • Compelling storyteller that has had success launching new products with clear, concise and easy to understand messaging and positioning.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling written, verbal and visual formats.
  • Strategic and creative thinker that can challenge the status quo and develop innovative go-to-market plans and strategies.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and strategic thinking skills, with ability to draw conclusions based on data.
  • Detail and results-oriented; skilled at both planning and hands-on execution.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating and working cross-functionally with sales, PR and multiple functions within marketing.
  • Entrepreneurial and transformational mindset, driven to create and innovate.
  • Excels in team-oriented, collaborative, and fast-paced environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively prioritize and get things done.
  • Technical discipline experience and education (BSEE, BSME, BSCS or higher) with MBA being a plus.
  • Strong acumen in BPMN.
  • A unique blend of strategic thinking, innovation, people management skills, leadership.
