Cyber Security Cyber Defense Center (CDC) Detect Analysts are focused on addressing information security incidents, including phishing, information theft, misuse of data, intrusions, hostile probes, and malicious software.

This is a technical position. Strong experience with networking and related network tools is highly useful. General understanding of information security. Experience in both infrastructure such as server and/or client Operating Systems & tools and application development.

What you’ll be able to do:

Daily activities include analyzing incidents using one of the many available tools. Then investigating and determining whether it is a valid threat to Ford. If a threat is identified, you will then need to resolve the threat/incident.

Candidates must be willing to work 1 weekend per Quarter in the calendar year. For those weeks, only when you’re Shift Lead, you work 11am-8pm shift during Eastern Daylights Savings time and 10am-7pm shift during Eastern Standard time.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 4+ years in a Technical Cyber Security Position

Our preferred requirements:

  • Experience reviewing logs to determine and resolve Cyber Security issues on own initiative

  • Must work well with others including peers and end-users

  • Able and willing to take directions from supervisor

  • Experience in Cyber Security and Controls, specifically the areas of incident investigation, technical event/incident assessment, malware research

  • Strong interest in technologies, security with an eagerness and willingness to learn

  • Strong deductive reasoning, critical and Analytical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills to be able to triage cyber security issues and other issues to resolution. Combined with ability to have initiative to understand what is required or what management means and complete

  • Disciplined approach utilized when completing work and adhering to procedure

  • Strong oral and written communications skills – able and willing to communicate technical items in non-technical terms

  • Strong interest in Security and Controls, specifically the areas of incident investigation, technical event/incident assessment, malware research; and, a desire to gain competency in these areas

  • Demonstrate high level of appropriate independent initiative, drive for results, quality methods and integrity

  • Must be willing to concurrently work on multiple assignments/projects and complete on schedule to quality

  • Must be willing to accept different assignments, work on projects, and be willing to do what is requested of them. This may include changes in tasks/assignments/priorities as needed to support business requirements/concerns

  • Take initiative to complete work and/or projects/deliverables as necessary.

  • Able to update SharePoint and other documentation

  • This would be a perfect position for a candidate who is technically oriented, has a willingness to learn and is a “night owl”, i.e., prefers to work later hours (for example 10am-7pm or 9am-6pm or 11am-8pm)

  • Successful candidates should have a strong interest in network, application, data security, and an interest in technology and continuously growing their security skillset
