Solution Center Infrastructure Technician

Location: Weaverville, NC

Position Summary:  The role of the Solutions Center Infrastructure Technician is to perform imagining and maintenance of computers and to assist, when needed, with the installation and maintenance of Epsilon clientele's, cable, Wi-Fi, and VoIP services.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the imaging, maintenance, and inventory control of client computers.
  • Assist with installing, monitoring, and maintaining the following types of technical solutions as directed:  Network, Systems, Security, Field Services, Telecom, Audio/Visual, Wifi.
  • Update and maintain customer documentation.
  • Implement hardware configuration plans developed in conjunction with the Solution Center.
  • Implement solutions based upon client needs and under the direction of the Solutions Center by ensuring that all hardware and software work properly; assemble hardware and install or delete software.
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance, when needed, of following products as directed: Cisco, Security, Managed Workplace, TDM, Video Teleconferencing, WiFi, and others.
  • Troubleshoot computer equipment, ensuring it runs correctly, and recover any lost or accidentally deleted data when possible.
  • Meet customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Follow-up on assigned tickets and projects, as needed.
  • Escalate process and policy issues as needed.
  • Other work duties as assigned.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Certifications:
  • Associates Degree or higher in Computer Science or similar field of study, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 1+ years' experience in similar position.
  • Must have the ability to obtain one of the following certifications within 120 days of hire: CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA Net+ CE, CSA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC or SSCP
  • Must have the ability to be submitted and process for a Department of Defense Security clearance
  • Firewall management and security experience desired.
  • Microsoft server experience desired.
  • WDS Server experience desired.
  • Technical knowledge of telecommunications, network and PC operating systems.
  • Technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Application support experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • High level of self-motivation.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute in a high-pressure environment.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong team player
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, this position requires the ability to sit for potentially long periods of time throughout the workday. Hearing sufficient to understand conversations, both in person and on the telephone. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components for potentially long periods of time without experiencing abnormal hand, wrist, or eye strain.
  • Work Environment: Includes a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, including exposure to heat, cold, inclement weather conditions, and occasional environmental hazards. Local, regional, and national travel may be required.
