Hours: Part Time 24 hrs/week
Shift: 12 hr PM 7pm-7am
UC Health is hiring part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the night shift to support NICU at UC Medical Center.
Level III NICU with a variety of complications, such as micro-prematurity at 23 weeks with numerous risk factors and comorbidities, feeder-growers, infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome (opioid withdrawal). Nurses are highly skilled in many critical care techniques, including ventilators, umbilical line maintenance, chest tubes, etc.

Unit Details:
* Clinical ladder program- opportunity for advancements from a CN 1 nurse by doing unit projects that comes with monetary benefits as well as career engagement.
* Diverse patient population - We work in a learning environment with high risk/complicated, diverse patient backgrounds. We have the opportunity to care for both High risk Antepartum and Postpartum patients, each shift comes with new interesting challenges where we utilize those collaborative teams to provide the best patient care.
* RN to BSN program- This of course is hospital wide but UC is now offering opportunity to apply for this cohort program part time or full time.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age-specific.
* Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.
* Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.
* Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.
* Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
* Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.
* Nursing process is accurately and concisely documented, including evaluation of treatment and in accordance to hospital policy and procedure.
* Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
* Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others.
* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
* Associate's Degree, minimum required
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred
* Current OH RN License
* BLS/ACLS/PALS per department requirements based on patient population needs.
Hours: Part Time 24 hours/week
Shift: 12-hour Night Shift
