Job Description

Electrical Engineer (Akron, Ohio) 
We are currently have a need for an Electrical Engineer; client is located in Akron, Ohio and specializes in extrusions. The Electrical Controls Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and the build of dedicated controls for extruders, feeders, and cutters; along with commercial periphery equipment such as temperature control units, plumbing manifolds, melt pump, temperature & pressure instruments.  The position will work in conjunction with our Mechanical Designers to ensure all equipment being provided is properly integrated and meets customer expectations. Responsibilities:
Design, build, program, install, wire, and integrate controls assemblies with mechanical equipment.
Develop project requirements based on customer scope of work.
Perform technical calculations to support the design; including electrical requirements, safety standards (UL, CE), and motor controls.
Ability to configure, design and debug PLC ladder logic and HMI programs.
Track and manage electrical designs in conjunction with mechanical designer and project manager.
Create documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Troubleshoot equipment failures that may including (but not limited too), VFD’s, servos, PLC’s, HMI, relays, and more. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
5-10 years of experience preferred designing and building electrical controls assemblies.
Experience with processing equipment; rotating equipment preferred.
Technical proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC software applications.
Strong problem-solving skills with a twist of creativeness.
Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
Understanding of intermediate to advanced electrical/manufacturing principals.
