The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing the annual budget process, developing / maintaining forecast models, and analysis for the local company. Develop, interpret, and implement complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting, Budgeting & Monthly Financial Close
    • Partners with Sr. and departmental leaders to oversee the budget creation and periodic forecasting
    • Develops cost / benefit analyses and staffing needs for key strategies or initiatives 
    • Participates and develops company-wide business plan and strategies
    • Assists in performing monthly reporting around our financial close and variance analysis to budget or forecast
  • SG&A management 
    • Manage the reporting and analysis of SG&A month end close
    • Research and understand business operations to identify cost cutting initiatives
    • Lead, track, and follow up with Sr. leaders on SG&A efficiency initiatives
    • Oversee the improvement of SG&A management reporting on a detailed and segmented basis to ensure cost tracking and containment with Sr. leaders 
    • Partner with operational Sr. leaders to assist in setting statistical metrics to enhance awareness of operational performance and decisions around FTE management
  • Acquisition Analysis and Presentation
    • Perform detailed financial and qualitative analysis on potential acquisitions of provider groups and network deals
    • Perform valuation analyses, including multi-year discounted cash flow calculations, and analyses of tax return information
  • Capital Reporting and Analysis
    • Participate and oversee month end capital closing process
    • Assist in capital project cost development and ongoing cost tracking
    • Maintain master files of capital projects, track capital funding status, and assist in

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive professional experience in finance and/or accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Advanced / Expert knowledge with Microsoft Excel
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license or MBA
  • Executive presence with strong communications and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders (ability to translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences)
  • Leadership experience with ability to develop others and create a positive team-based work environment
  • Experience with Hyperion database and PeopleSoft
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment and multi-task under pressure
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong analytical abilities and an understanding of cost accounting principles and the relationship between revenues, expenses, and volume of service
  • Must be a problem solver, detail oriented, reliable, and a self-starter

The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to 142,600.
