Positions in this function are responsible for various activities related to the provider network database which may include any or all of the following: database maintenance, reporting and extracting data for various reports and analyses, initiating database improvement. Develops and maintains standards for database integrity and quality assurance, coordinates corrective activities to clean database and retain users, and manages communication processes with other departments regarding database improvements. Conducts audits and provides feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance. Maintains current provider data to ensure the quality of the network. May be responsible for representing the provider network area on company IT projects, reporting and tracking provider calls and complaints, or for the support, coordination, and production of the paper directory cycles. *Employees in jobs labeled with ‘SCA’ must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help manage provider data and maintain and improve databases
  • Report and extract data for various reports and analyses
  • Help develop/maintain standards for database integrity and quality assurance
  • Coordinate corrective activities to clean database and retain users
  • Manage communication processes with other departments regarding database improvements
  • Assist in audits and data quality improvement initiatives
  • Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed
  • Works with less structured, more complex issues
  • Serves as a resource to others

This role will challenge you at every turn. You'll help troubleshoot systems issues and identify gaps within a fast-paced, performance driven environment. You'll need to learn different platform tools to help with data migrations, loading and auditing within various lines of the business.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years experience in the health care industry
  • 2+ years of provider or claims data entry experience
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in tracking, trending and reporting on metrics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Proficiency in using a credentialing or provider database

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $23.94 to $42.40. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
