Tetra Tech is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist/Industrial Hygienist to provide support on various environmental projects working out of our office in Duluth, GA. This position will support a variety of contracts, including federal, state, local, and commercial clients. The selected candidate will evaluate, analyze, and investigate site conditions and work environments to successfully identify and control workplace hazards and meet regulatory and client requirements especially where toxic materials are used. Implement health and safety compliance programs within workplace and ensure all safety procedures of handling materials are followed, in terms of using the correct safety equipment and their proper storage. The ideal candidate will have experience:
Must have strong oral and written communication, client relations, and organizational skills. Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well both independently and in a team environment. Must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload and travel as needed. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel required. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check. In addition, must have strong communication and leadership skills; strong problem-solving and analytical experience; ability to work in a team environment, but individually when necessary; Experience in fast-paced work environments, and a self-starter. Physical Demands can consist of standing for long periods of time when off-site or sitting when in office. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Up to 25% travel may be required to oversee multiple workplaces/sites. Potential exposure to toxic environment with hazardous materials. Will be working on construction sites. Exposure to all seasons including hot & cold environments.
