Job Description:

The Software Pricing Manager will be responsible for developing pricing and packaging strategies for CARS platform offerings. The role will work closely with our product, finance and sales teams to quantify customer value drivers, assess demand and willingness to pay, and set future pricing and packaging strategies to address specific customer segments. The role will evaluate, design and test new commercialization models that align to market trends and customer needs while optimizing CARS revenue and product usage. The candidate must be comfortable analyzing large amounts of product data, conducting quantitative and qualitative market and competitive research, and helping influence product and business strategy.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leaders in our product and finance organizations to help craft new business models, define strategies for new offerings, optimize packaging & pricing for existing offers, and drive overall monetization
  • Set effective value-based pricing strategies for CARS software and website solutions
  • Create packaging solutions that increase deal size, drive multi-business participation, and address new customer segments
  • Develop customer conversion strategies to migrate from legacy products
  • Set processes and policies to improve price execution, limit discounting and sell more effectively
  • Manage pricing exceptions and develop internal price effectiveness dashboards for the sales and finance teams
  • Design and lead qualitative and quantitative sales and customer research related to pricing and packaging
  • Design analysis to draw conclusions from sales/retention data, product performance and product/feature usage patterns
  • Develop data-based recommendations and influence senior executives to gain alignment on pricing
  • Partner with product leadership and drive the process to identify/prioritize products and features to be packaged and priced

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding and advocate of value based pricing principles
  • Ability to triangulate customer research, pricing/sales analytics, and product value analysis into strategic pricing and packaging recommendations
  • Enterprise software deal structuring
  • Ability to develop structured recommendations supported with financial modeling
  • Demonstrated ability to drive own work with minimal supervision; is able to build multi-week projects and can assemble cross-functional team to get work done efficiently
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with and influence the decisions of different levels of management
  • Confidence working with Senior/Executive Leadership
  • Intellectually curious, creative strategic business thinker who loves to tackle complex challenges
  • Experience managing and running multiple projects
  • Proficiency with Google Sheets/MS Excel and experience with large data sets and supporting tools, e.g., SQL, Business Objects, Tableau, R, Python

Experience:
  • 5+ years experience of pricing or pricing related field
  • 2+ years of SaaS pricing or strategy experience (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in software technology company (preferred)
  • Familiarity with large enterprise deals (preferred)
  • Familiarity multi-business line integration and legacy product/customer migrations (preferred)
  • Prior management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, pricing/product strategy or product management experience (preferred)
  • MBA preferred
