Bilingual Field HR Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute HR business plans for the Houston branch.
  • Support company policies and procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Work with HR, Payroll, and Operations to administer company programs, evaluate employee actions for compliance and accuracy and provide guidance to managers and employees.
  • Maintain and build a strong branch location HR team, helping to support employees in areas of recruiting, talent development, and employee relations.
  • Supports team training and development activities, including team development/improvement plans.
  • Effectively leverage corporate support for consistency in approach related to policies, procedures, and programs performed across the organization.
  • Communicate and drive location specific company Human Resource practices, systems, and employee related activities to ensure consistent delivery of programs and initiatives.
  • Advises and guides operations on Human Resource related topics by building relationships with management.
  • Oversee branch location craft-skilled recruiting processes such as recruiting needs, planning, sourcing, selection, and hiring.
  • Supervise local HR system tools and transactions to oversee the full employee life cycle of onboarding through off boarding.
  • Lead and support special HR projects within the Houston branch as well as from Corporate.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Moderate travel to various job site locations for Human Resource related questions, updates, and/or general visits.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management, Business or related

- At least 8 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

- SPHR/PHR preferred.

Experience

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.

- Experience with employee relations, recruiting, engagement/retention, HR policies and procedures, preferably in construction.

- Familiar with federal and state Employment Law.

- Possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Skills

-  Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.

- Ability to develop strong functional teams.

- Ability to build strong partnerships across reporting relationships.

- Capable of analyzing information, identifying root causes and developing approved solutions.

- Strong MS Office skills.

- Skills in utilizing building security and lock system procedures and methods.

- Multiple language abilities preferred, fluency in English required and Spanish desired.

Working Conditions

- Able to perform work indoors in an office environment.

- Able to communicate orally in a clear manner.

- Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone.

- Able to navigate construction jobsites, which includes climbing stairs and/or ladders.

- Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods of time creating, composing and reviewing documents and spreadsheets.

- Able to operate office equipment, including telephone, mobile phone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner and calculator.

 

This position has supervisory responsibilities for direct reports
