Job Summary

Chesapeake is committed to net zero production-related carbon emissions by 2035. Part of that journey is the independent certification of 100% Responsibly Sourced Natural Gas production across all basins that we operate within. Chesapeake is also certified as 'Gold' under the MiQ protocols and the equivalent under EO 100 and Project Canary. Looking for a candidate that can oversee the public policy aspect of Responsibly Sourced Gas and the multitude of evolving reporting/certification frameworks to help the company in its journey to Net Zero and commitment to continuous improvement, distinguishing itself with authenticity.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Tracks, identifies and analyzes emerging and existing regulatory laws and voluntary requirements in the E&P - Methane monitoring & reporting space
* Provides guidance to senior management about these requirements
* Serves as regulatory policy subject matter expert and contact across the infrastructure businesses, representing the interest and initiatives of infrastructure business by actively participating in various industry policy stakeholder & trade association meetings
* Coordinates closely with the impacted operations and marketing departments
* Coordinates the development of Chesapeake comments on state and local rulemakings
* Mentors and trains less experienced regulatory affairs representatives
* Communicates information on risks and opportunities associated with regulatory developments to the appropriate teams within CHK
* Participates in multi-disciplinary regulatory impact analysis, position development and regulatory advocacy strategies
* Develops and issues alerts, bulletins, and regulatory updates for key stakeholders
* Coordinates Chesapeake representation on state, regional, and local trades and oversees processes for submitting comments and votes
* Coordinates interactions with state, regional, and local agencies and prepares briefing and presentation materials
* Develops regulatory advocacy strategies and will potentially lead advocacy efforts on select issues
* Resolves state, regional, and local compliance issues, in coordination with appropriate stakeholders
* Analyzes and communicates risks and opportunities associated with regulatory developments
* Communicates and manages changes in regulatory requirements for the business
* Performs other duties as assigned

Education

* Minimum: Bachelor's degree - from accredited university - Related degree field

Experience

* Minimum: 12 - 15 years related work experience
