Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner of the designated region, the HR Business Partner is responsible for the efficient and effective performance of Human Resources and related functions at their assigned location and perform all duties assigned by the manager. The HR Business Partner must know, practice and administer Company policies and procedures. The position is considered a vital link between management and employees and auctions and corporate, and must develop and foster a positive, healthy and enthusiastic work environment free of inappropriate behavior such as discrimination, harassment and violence, while effectively assisting in the hiring and promotion of individuals to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability of the auction.

The ideal candidate will handle a wide variety of tasks to support the HR department with the ability to interact with the employees, managers and corporate administrators in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure with many interruptions and completing various tasks while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, crucial to this role. Expert level of client service, written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making and attention to detail are equally important.

Must have the ability to deal with challenging situations, problem solve, prioritize tasks, create and maintain a professional work environment, and be flexible enough to deal with daily challenges of the system.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins and schedules from the Corporate Office and Regional Human Resources Manager and/or District Senior HR Business Partner

  • Maintain a good flow of communication with all departments and within the Corporation.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all personnel information.

  • Responsible to ensure posting and compliance of all legally required notices and posters.

  • Responsible to assist employees with safety training and inform managers of incomplete trainings. Assist with Corporate Safety programs (i.e. substance abuse testing, safe driving training programs, safety manual, OSHA regulations). Report all work related incidents immediately. Ensure employees and managers have completed incidents forms and incident has been reported in system.

  • Assist in hiring for exempt and non-exempt personnel, participate conducting new employee orientation and training, and assist with the performance appraisal program. Assist with advertising, job postings, screening techniques, offer letters, employment tax credits processing, and new hire paperwork.

  • Assist local Senior HR Business Partner and management in planning and implementing staffing, scheduling and monitoring overall changes in headcount.

  • Assist with benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, and communication of benefit information to employees. Assist with FMLA and Open Enrollment.

  • Responsible for payroll processes (Kronos) and maintain deadlines as designed by the Payroll Manager. Process sign off weekly payroll. Resolve payroll inquiries from employees in a timely manner.

  • Follow up and follow-through in all communications until tasks are completed.

  • Maintain positive employee relations and morale whenever possible. Promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance. Follow-through and communicate employee relations problems to the Senior HR Business Partner . Work with Senior HR Business Partner to resolve employee relations problems, complaints, suggestions, etc.

  • Work with the Senior HR Business Partner to take positive, consistent, disciplinary action on infractions of company policies and procedures as defined in the employee progressive discipline policy.

  • Assist Corporate HR and management to maintain up-to-date written bonus and incentive plans created and administered at the auction level for all employees on such plans. Assist in developing cost effective incentives for reducing missed punches, absenteeism, accidents and similar high maintenance performance areas.

  • Responsible for clerical duties, maintain employee files set up at auction location per policy requirements. Maintain and update employment practices and employee personnel files. Assist District Senior HR Business Partner and district auction sites to implement measures to secure and maintain employee records.

Educational Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

  • Fluent bilingual written and oral Spanish strongly preferred.

  • SPHR, PHR or related certification or progress toward such certification is preferred.

  • Payroll, benefits or training background and experience are preferred.

  • At least 6 months to 2 years of Human Resource related experience is required.

  • Basic knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration is required.

  • Demonstrated proficiency of MS Office, Excel proficient, payroll, timekeeping systems, and recruiting systems is also required.

  • Valid Driver’s License required

  • Travel may be required.
