Mobile Plant Operator position for our mobile metal processing plant that will be deployed to process ash from energy from waste (EfW) facilities primarily for the recovery of scrap metals and potentially for the recovery of its mineral fraction for reuse. This role will be remotely based and will require in excess of 50% travel.  The position will report into the Lead Mobile Plant Operator within Covanta Metals Management organization.

The Mobile Plant Operator’s primary responsibility is to support the day to day operations and maintenance of a mobile ash processing system that will be deployed at specific locations for approximately 2 to 6 months before being transported to a different location.  As directed by the Lead Operator, the role would require directing subcontractor labor in the day to day operations of the equipment.  The role would also require to periodically lead the plant operations when the Lead Operator isn’t available.  The role involves supporting the set-up and break-down of the mobile processing system at each location, and preparing the equipment for transport.  Experience with various material handling equipment, including, conveyors, crushing equipment, magnets and eddy current separators is important. Experience in operating front-end loaders, excavators and fork lifts is important

Position Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of these sectors is necessary - metal recovery, conveyors, earth movement/bulk material handling.

Experience and/or knowledge of metal recovery systems is desirable

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) is desirable
