The one-of-a-kind Omni Viking Lakes Hotel in the Minneapolis area is already under construction and is expected to open in late 2020. A substantial part of the 200-acre Viking Lakes mixed-use development, the destination is home to the Minnesota Vikings headquarters, Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center and TCO Stadium. The location is easily accessible from downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Mall of America and airport, with additional uses for the planned development to include corporate offices, retail, restaurants and entertainment.

The 320-room luxury hotel will feature more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and pre-function space, including a 7,500-square-foot ballroom, a 4,410-square-foot event center and six two-story hospitality lounges for groups and meeting planners to utilize. From small board meetings, conferences and large galas or special events to Sunday football tailgates and more, the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel will accommodate groups of all sizes with its robust meetings offerings, multiple food and beverage venues, a signature spa and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.

Job Description

An amazing opportunity to be a part of the pre-opening of the next great Omni Hotel property. Opening in late 2020, the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel will honor timeless Nordic traditions and incorporate the local flavor of the region. With easy access to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, the luxury hotel will be a destination retreat for meetings, business and leisure travelers alike. Anchored by the Minnesota Vikings headquarters and practice facility, the hotel will be an anchor of the Viking Lakes development.

Starting this spring, the Director of Rooms is responsible for the performance of the Rooms division, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Laundry and Loss Prevention. The successful candidate demonstrates their ability to produce balanced financial, guest experience and associate satisfaction outcomes. This is an executive level position reporting to the General Manager.


• Oversight of all front office and housekeeping operations, including front desk, concierge, bell/door associates and valet parking operations along luxury guidelines• Ensure the quality and productivity of housekeeping/laundry (in-house) functions that guarantee the cleanliness of all guest areas, high levels of personal service delivered by housekeeping associates and a stable work force• Excellence in appearance of all areas throughout the hotel• Producing constant improvement in guest experience satisfaction metrics• Showing high associate satisfaction scores throughout the division including maintaining low turnover and high promotion-from-within ratings• Controlling payroll and direct expenses in line with the budget and varying levels of business using corporate-wide technology and other systems• Participation in weekly forecasting and scheduling activities• Providing assistance in developing the annual hotel budget• Preparation of action plans as directed by management• Daily reviews of operating outcomes (including corrective action if required)• Maintaining high visibility with associates and guests


• Bachelor's degree or equivalency required, preferably in hospitality• Must have previous experience in all aspects of the Rooms Division in a property of similar size and quality for a period of five or more years• Experience in forecasting and scheduling, daily reviews and analysis of operating results preferred• Proficiency in the use of a computer is necessary (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required• Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to nurture managers-in-training• Must be detail-oriented and organized• Must be able to work closely and communicate with all associates, departments, guests, and clients in a professional manner• Must be highly service-oriented
