Job Title: Associate Maintenance Technician
Description:
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance.
- Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, etc.
- Perform minor repairs.
- Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
- Install appliances and equipment.
- Do shoveling, salting, and sanding sidewalks during winter season, collecting trash, and general cleaning.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
- Maintain, service, clean, and properly store equipment (Proper disposal of waste oil for recycling).
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm).
- Inspect and repair all damages to building surfaces.
- Participate in different projects (e.g., renovations).
- Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties and activities as required (Flexible schedule for additional projects upon request).
- Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary (may consist of occasional weekends).
- General upkeep and minor repairs.
- Diagnose and repair broken assets.
- Maintain a record of performed maintenance tasks.
- Keep hand tools, power tools, and supplies organized and clean.
- Follow safety precautions and adhere to the schedule.
- Respond to maintenance requests, and handle any emergency and necessary repairs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous working experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with hand and electrical tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting and lowering weights up to 50 pounds. Steel-toed shoes, eye protection & hearing protection are required on the manufacturing floor.
- Ensure all lost time, minor and trivial accidents are reported.
- Ensure a safe working environment exists for self and colleagues, ensuring all health, safety, environmental and quality management procedures are followed.
- Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary (may consist of occasional weekends).
- Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
Skills and Attributes:
- Exercise substantial initiative/judgment in work methods and interpreting goals.
- Work independently and is reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision.
- Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of direct management and people activities.
- Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time.
