Reports directly to the President/CEO, responsible for management of the organization's accounting, financial reporting, financial planning, budgeting, contracts, cost controls, and insurance. Interact with the Executive Staff and the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors to strategize and strengthen the organization's finance and accounting policies and procedures.
Financial Planning & Management, including accounting budget, purchasing & reporting
Management of insurance on buildings & equipment; liability insurance
Expenditure control to include: salaries, benefits, marketing expenses and administrative costs
Maintain financial records for membership, endowment & fundraising
Manage full cycle accounting including AP, AR, balance sheet reconciliation
Process 3rd party payroll biweekly through PEO
Prepare monthly financial statements and review/present to President and BOD Finance Committee
Oversee annual external financial audit and internal auditing; Contract management
Preparation of related tax information
Oversight for planning, design, operations, maintenance and upgrade of all information technology systems
Financial leader of collaborative team with monthly campfire meetings
Member of the senior staff team of department managers
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; advanced degree preferred
5+ years' full cycle accounting experience
Experience in a nonprofit organization and thorough understanding of nonprofit accounting
Experience preparing budgets and managing annual budget process
Experience presenting financials to senior management and finance committee of Board
Maintenance, monitoring, and regular reporting of donor accounts
Experience with Sage Intact and SAGE 50 Nonprofit Accounting software preferred
