Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS) is a community-based nonprofit organization and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, compassionate and quality health/wellness services for our communities.
PCHS is also a Patient-Centered Medical Home accredited by AAAHC and operates clinics in nine locations on the Kitsap Peninsula
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a contact for patient issues or concerns and ensure the confidentiality of patient information.
Open patient accounts and verify client data as they check in, including billing information, insurance information etc.
Assist in answering incoming calls transferred from the Patient Service Center or outside providers.
Assist in maintaining Electronic Health Records including scanning, filing, retrieving and other record keeping tasks.
Compute patient charges and collect fees. Verify/Calculate sliding scale charges, insurance, etc.
Prepare records release requests as necessary. Assist in maintaining Electronic Health Record by proper documentation, and by submitting a record release request.
Confirm next day appointments. Verification of client's payer source if under managed care plan, validate the client is covered at the date of service.
Monitor all patient flow, to include patient check-in, review Electronic Health Record (scrubbing prior to visit), note vital signs and present problems.
Prepare exam rooms for patient visits, instruments for sterilization and quality control of autoclave.
Administer prescribed immunizations and perform patient education as requested by provider.
Responsible for obtaining non-invasive specimens, utilizing appropriate preparation, processing and evaluation procedures for all specimens obtained.
