Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our team members, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers’ financial needs.

The Data Management Solutions (DMS) organization within Data Management & Insight provides holistic and consistent data management capabilities to Wells Fargo. This includes domain management, data quality monitoring, metadata management, data lake management, and master/reference data management. 

This role will focus on supporting Authorized Provisioning Point (APP) implementations across the Enterprise Data Environment (EDE). Responsible for providing data analyst support services to stakeholders utilizing comprehensive, in-depth knowledge and expertise regarding analysis of data requirements, including data mapping and data profiling. Partners with DMS APP Management, Business Data Leaders, and SMEs to identify and define data requirements and translate business needs into required designs and recommendations for APP implementations. Identifies cross business sources and participates in recommendation for conformance of data. Works with priority downstream consumers and exhibits good understanding of their priorities and its impact to APP scope and activities. Supports delivery of a consistent approach to APP implementations and supports adherence to centralized Cross-APP implementation guidelines.

Key Responsibilities include:  

  • Lead sessions with appropriate SMEs to document business requirements  documentation for data to be conformed in the APP
  • Identify “appropriate” sources of data to be sourced into APP in partnership with data source ABDOs/SMEs
  • Lead definition of logical conformed data model, leveraging cross-APP guidance for consistency
  • Develop logic to map upstream data sources into conformed model in partnership with data source ABDOs/SMEs
  • Support UAT execution to ensure data is conformed correctly in alignment with business requirements
  • Review downstream/use case (e.g. eONE, CRM) consumption requirements and identify impacts to APP implementation requirements
  • Ensure APP implementation is in alignment with Cross-APP guidelines
  • Maintain awareness of cross-functional activities and how they impact Data Management Solutions (DMS)
  • Provide guidance to other workstreams as they engage stakeholders to support EDE’s goals and objectives
  • Ensure plans meet the timelines established
  • Provide support to ad-hoc requests as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 5+ years of experience in data management related areas such as metadata or lineage, data governance or data quality

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative discipline

  • Experience with data profiling and data mapping activities
  • Experience with agile project methodology and activities, as well as build and release management in software development lifecycles (SDLC)
  • Experience in data management projects in financial services
  • Ability to dissect complex problems, analyze data, and recommend potential solutions
  • Understanding of regulatory report requirements and data requirements for data conformance and curation of downstream use cases
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Able to partner and work effectively with all levels in an organization
