Skill Level: Intermediate to Expert level.
Location: Denver, Colorado
Full-Time position. Schedule: 8-hour day shift - Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime may be required.

Introduction: We are a growing 142-year-old multi-service sign company searching for a dedicated, problem-solving, and reliable Fabricator to join our sign fabrication team. All levels of experience will be considered, but prefer someone with fabrication experience, especially fabrication of signage. We operate with a friendly and positive family environment, including offering an excellent comprehensive pay and benefit package.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Fabricator role requires a person who is continuously learning, quality oriented, and hardworking. This position will be part of a Fabrication team, will report to the Production Manager, and is a combination of: Daily sign fabrication tasks, including typical metal and plastic fabrication shop manufacturing duties (metal and plastic cutting/welding/assembly), and interaction with all other shop production departments (paint, vinyl, digital, design, etc.). All levels of experience will be considered, and we train a person with the right attitude and aptitude for sign fabrication – but must have basic mechanical/construction experience and familiarity.

SKILLS / ABILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE – requirements & preferred:
• Skills:
o Be mechanically inclined and able to use a variety of light to heavy tools, and power equipment.
o Work with industrial equipment in a factory setting with extensive physical activities including, but not limited to, walking, standing, crouching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, reaching – sometimes on a repetitive basis.
o Problem-solving focused, dependable, respectful, career-oriented, and have good organizational skills.
o Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
o Willingness to learn and take direction with a positive attitude.
o Excellent active listening and communication/ comprehension skills are required - must receive, understand, and follow detailed information through verbal and/or written communication.
o Must be able to, or be willing to quickly learn to, read and interpret various documents such as; sales documents, mechanical/electrical drawings, safety rules, work orders, procedure manuals, and related documentation.
o 100% team player – must be able and willing to work both independently and in team environment - we take this seriously.
• Abilities:
o Ability to understand basic manufacturing and construction concepts.
o Ability to adapt to changes in work assignments and environments.
o Ability to effectively work under pressure to maintain schedules with quality work.
o Willing and able to work outside of regular business hours if/when needed - occasional weekends and weekday overtime are dictated by client demand and company needs.
o Ability to handle work issues and resolve them while remaining positive and helpful.
o “Can do” attitude, a strong work ethic, tenacity, and grit - we take this seriously.
• Qualifications:
o A valid and current driver’s license, or willingness to obtain, with a demonstratable clean driving record and current auto insurance.
o High school or GED diploma.
o Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
• Experience/Knowledge:
o Required – 1+ years of fabrication, construction, manufacturing, machine shop, etc. experience.
o Required – Familiarity or experience with production work including use of hand power/non-power and measurement tools, such as, drills, hammers, wrenches, shovels, saws, jackhammers, measuring tape and levelers for cutting, drilling, sanding, grinding, paint prep.
o Strongly Preferred - Some signage experience/knowledge/familiarity with interior and exterior signage.
o Strongly Preferred - Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in the sign industry.
o
o Preferred – Welding experience, especially with aluminum.

RESPONSIBILITIES & Required Daily/Periodic Activities – include, but are not limited to:
• Specific – for Fabrication role requirements only:
o Most duties will consist of all aspects of sign fabrication process – aluminum, plastic, steel, etc. using brake forming, bending, functional math, welding (if desired), painting (sanding/cleaning/masking/spraying), chemical and mechanical fastening, & low-voltage electrical wiring.
o
o Fabricate (build & assemble) structural and ornamental metal and plastic products.
o Work with shop leads and Production Manager to ensure production goals are met.
o Work with the rest of the Fabrication team to create an environment of teamwork and meeting goals.
o Accurately read, follow, and interpret drawings, specifications, and directions/instructions in in written, oral, diagram or schedule form to ensure the clients specifications are met.
o Maintain work area and tools/equipment in a clean and safe manner, including emptying trash receptacles.
o Maintains time records accurately - including daily timesheets.
• General – all shop/install/manufacturing employees:
o Safety First - work safely.
o Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Reliable transportation required.
o Present yourself professionally while working – including core values of Safety, Courtesy, Integrity, & Exceptional Customer Service.
o Follow all company processes and policies with regard to safety, security, quality control, material handling, and productivity - and contribute ideas for improvement to the team as we continue to grow.
o Demonstrate problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
o Effectively manage time and priorities to meet deadlines.
o Be a productive team member with a strong work ethic.
o Be open to and responds to coaching and feedback on work approach and goal achievement and seek guidance on areas of improvement.
o Effectively and continuously communicate status of ongoing work activities to your supervisor/manager.
o Work cooperatively and build/maintain positive working relationships on a diverse team with team peers, management, suppliers, and customers.
o We are a growing company, so we all wear many different hats and occasionally perform other duties - your willingness to do the same, as assigned by department leads or company management, is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Handle physically demanding tasks typical of construction trades. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions/duties of this job. All these items must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:
• The employee is regularly required to; sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, crouch, crawl, reach above the shoulder, & work with their hands, handle, feel, & grasp whether directly manipulating components or using controls on an assembly machine.
• Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time at worktables.
• The employee is regularly required to talk or hear – including over shop noise.
• Occasional exposure to loud noise (noise protection provided).
• Some equipment may require the use of respirators.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and move it for at least 50 feet, and have the ability to lift 100+ pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Employee will need to be able to infrequently travel by automobile.
