Job Summary

The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a Biostatistical Consultant I to join the division of Nephrology. As a valued team member, you will support Dr. Susan Hedayati in her research efforts. Dr. Hedayati's research involves patient study data that will be analyzed. You will perform sophisticated biostatistical analysis of clinical research data, large datasets, and RNA seq data, including survival models, multivariable regression analysis, joint models, cox proportional hazards, and boot-strapping. As our ideal candidate you will possess data analytic capabilities and experience with extracting, querying, and reorganizing large datasets for analysis, analyze data from RedCAP for NIH-funded clinical trials for data and safety monitoring board reports, and participate in writing manuscripts and grants. This position is eligible for 100% remote work.

Job Duties
  • Collaborates with investigators to identify problems and provide statistical consultation including design of experiments, analysis of data and interpretation of results.
  • Writes statistical portion on manuscript based on results of analysis and address manuscript revisions based on reviewer\'s comments.
  • Assists client data organization.
  • Performs statistical computations.
  • Provides graphical and tabular representations.
  • Develops, maintains and modifies programs for in-house use.
  • Collaborates with investigators in grant development including statistical design of studies and preparation of statistical portion of grant proposal.
  • Performs non-statistical components of consulting such as providing analogous examples and explanations using non-technical terminology and helping researchers formulate and clarify research issues.
  • Visits client\'s work field whenever possible to establish rapport and become familiar with and interested in client\'s research and data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education

Minimum Requirements
  • Master\'s degree in biostatistics or related discipline, or MPH with a concentration in biostatistics.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in statistical consulting with preference given to experience working in biomedical or health care environment.
  • Requires working knowledge of SAS, SPSS or other major statistical package (S+, R, etc.) and Microsoft Office (ACCESS and EXCEL).
  • Prefer knowledge of bioinformatics to perform RNA sq analysis.
