Growing real estate firm with its HQ located in downtown Chicago, known for being the developer behind some of country's most well known builds, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its finance department.

Client Details

With a diverse portfolio of real estate investments across commercial, multifamily, residential and industrial markets, they have grown steadily over the last 10 years. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, they have a strong pipeline of projects and are looking to add an experienced Senior Real Estate Accountant to the business.


  • Interpretation and application of project document such as loan, lease, operating agreements
  • Partner/member/lender/contractor/title company relations and reporting, as necessary
  • Prepare and track project funding requests
  • Prepare summary of lien waivers required and track receipt of same by draw
  • Timely solicit and obtain appropriate approval for project costs and prepare disbursements following draw funding
  • Prepare invoices for costs funded sources other than loan and equity proceeds
  • Identify eligible project costs incurred and ensure prompt reimbursement
  • Maintain project-specific cash summary and projection
  • Perform monthly general ledger accounting and prepare financial statements
  • Prepare and update workpapers supporting account balances
  • Update fee-sharing summaries
  • Perform cost segregation analysis following project completion
  • Project personal property tax assessments and prepare and file annual returns
  • Prepare 1099s and other reports required by taxing authorities
  • Assist in land/loan closing and property sale as necessary
  • Process for payment all pre-development costs including obtaining required approval of cost and ensuring appropriate general ledger coding
  • Prepare, as assigned, schedules of pre-development costs
  • Review employee expense reports to ensure accurate posting of costs
  • Perform special projects, as necessary


To be considered for this position, candidates are required to have:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 3+ years of construction or real estate accounting experience

Job Offer

  • A competitive base salary of between $70,000- $95,000 depending on skills and experience
