an Application Support Engineer Advanced, you are responsible for assisting

customers in the use of Tecnomatix, collaborating with support and development

management to raise key customer issues; developing technical articles and

customer self-help tools; assist in testing and verification of software fixes

during the development cycle. IRs would occasionally require additional

guidance from technical leads, development, and management. Area of customer

focus would consist of broad range of products including specialized areas.

This person could serve as mentor or focal point for product information. Scope

of influence could include Marketing, Development, Onsite Customers, User

Groups, and possibly Business Partners.


  • Answer 800 number calls andIncident Reports from customers and provide solutions for their problems

  • Under minimum direction, analyzecustomers problem and provide a solution or a workaround in a timelymanner that meets the customers needs

  • Duplicate client problems provideexplicit problem examples to development and write detailed problem andimprovement reports

  • Provide technical assistance toteam members on difficult customer problems

  • Identify critical issues and takeownership for successful resolution of issue while mentoring

  • Actively participate and seek outPLMS department opportunities in including product testing, IncidentReport, Problem Report, and Improvement Request maintenance, solutionarticle creation, and staff meeting discussions

  • Recommend improvements to PLMSobjectives

  • Build Technical articles

  • Train a minimum of 80 hoursannually

  • Expand scope of product knowledgeto include additional functional areas, applications, focal points, or modules,while maintaining area of expertise

  • Contribute positively to PLMSObjectives

  • Provide accurate exchanges ofinformation that show knowledge of PLMS processes.


Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in Tecnomatix,upgrades and trouble-shooting related issues required

  • Strong background in TecnomatixProcess Simulate and Tecnomatix Plant Simulation

  • Ability to comprehend complexsoftware concepts, database concepts, networking concepts, MicrosoftWindows and Linux operating systems

  • Detailed knowledge of computersystems, i.e. application installation, use of email, and O/S experience

  • Requires proficient analytical,writing, and communication skills

  • Mechanical Engineering, MechanicalDesign, Computer Science degree or equivalent schooling and/or experience

  • Excellent verbal group presentationand written communications skills

  • Must be able to work remote(virtual office)

  • Self-starter, motivated and able towork with a minimum of direct supervision, able to self-learn.

Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Background in Microsoft SQL orOracle is a plus

  • Experience in customer support andcall tracking system preferred

  • 5+ years of general CAD, CAM, CAE,or PDM experience preferred

  • Preferred work locations, but notlimited to: St. Louis, MO; Huntsville, AL; Ames, IA; Cypress, CA;Cincinnati, OH; Plano, TX; or Troy, MI.
