Production Superintendent
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts plant inspections to ensure safe work practices to help prevent accidents.
- Responsible for compliance to OSHA and the Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Leads all assembly operations in the plant and coordinates the work of production and quality departments.
- Analyzes and determines material, equipment, and staffing requirements.
- Determines how to overcome production problems.
- Responsible for identification, implementation, and verification of continuous improvement opportunities.
- Responsible for the implementation and compliance with JCI shop floor standards such as BOS, 5S, Policy and Procedures, and Employee Relations Activities.
- Responsible for the overall quality of the product produced.
- Motivates and directs the training of all production personnel.
- Trains and develops each employee by taking advantage of his/her strengths and improving weaknesses.
- Ensures the Customers' needs are met and acts as a liaison with managers and staff.
- Displays a demeanor and leadership style that is consistent with the Company's values and management philosophy.
- Jointly establishes individual objectives through analysis of, and familiarity with, each employee's job functions.
- Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned production areas.
- Understanding and participating in HSE&E practices.
- Reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies.
- Ensures compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action requirements.
- Performs other related tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.
Education and Experience:
- High school education or equivalent with some college preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a production environment with evidence of increased responsibility a plus.
