Job Summary:

The Dispatch Clerk will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned long haul OTR dedicated, full-time, driver fleet.  Overseeing to make sure that each driver is updated daily, running on-time/legally, and communicating with all involved parties…Customers, Move Managers, and Agents. Starting pay is $14.75/hr

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Daily driver checks calls, review current location, current activity, verify collection amounts if needed, obtain weights if needed, review next day activity
  • Update Eagle, QPD, and CAMIS remarks with necessary information from the driver check call
  • Communicate with proper Customer Service Representative with updates, answering requests/questions/concerns relating around the drivers, shipment details
  • Help drivers with needed information or details including shipment, trip information, OA/DA agent details, setting up shuttle/rental truck, locate labor source, obtain paperwork, help with shipment authorizations/approvals with booker/Allied
  • Request trip money for driver based on published guidelines. If additional funds are needed, work with the drivers GM and the Planners.
  • Work with drivers on Repairs and Service Needs – Coordinate with Coleman Driver Assistance – Hotline #

  • Offer solutions/suggestions to current load needs or shipment concerns/issues, working with lead planners and dispatchers
  • Advise drivers with any updates for Quality Scores, COV/TVC, random drug/alcohol tests, missing logs, and tablet updates
  • Participate in all Corporate Teleconference Calls each week as directed by Corporate Dispatch schedule
  •  Any additional duties assigned or requested by supervisors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company software
  • Organization skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Required Education and Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma or GED

Working Conditions:

  • Strictly office environment
  • 90-95% sitting down
  • Computer use is prevalent, along with telephone
  • Working hours Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include alternate Saturdays from 8 to 12 as well.
