Brokerage Specialist Sr - Part Time

Part-Time, 2nd Shift - Flexible schedule - every other Saturday required.

The Schneider organization has an immediate need for an Alliance Capacity Specialist. In this role, your primary responsibility is to take on the support shift duties for Schneider Transportation Management (STM) Sales/Brokerage and Carrier Services. The duties would include brokering, accepting, and tracking of freight as well as resolving problems and building a solid working relationship with all customers in order to understand their total service needs. The Carrier Service support responsibility is to process insurance updates on existing carriers. This will include a review of the carrier selection criteria to ensure that carriers meet STM's carrier guidelines and also update system appropriately. This position will set you on your way to a career of interesting challenges and limitless opportunities.
 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Broker out existing freight, rate negotiation
  • Accept freight based on flow, market balance, and rate
  • Monitor faxes, e-mailbox
  • Take calls from carriers/drivers/customers
  • Anticipate problems and act pro-actively to solve them
  • Ensure all computer information is accurate and up to date
  • Process insurance updates

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of one year of prior work experience, customer service experience preferred
  • Able to be a Team Player
  • High tolerance for stress
  • Good attention to detail
  • Capable of multitasking able to utilize multiple applications
  • Planning & organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Fluent in computer applications
