To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Other responsibilities include internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. How you will make an impact - Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested - Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process - Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation - Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner - In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts - Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management - Partake in various department-wide initiatives - Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease - Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries - Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll - Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision - Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required - Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Foundational knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP) - Knowledge of Monthly Financial Close - Ledger Account Reconciliation experience - Adeptness in Microsoft Excel - Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) - Monthly Financial Statements experience desired - Skilled with ERP systems - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks - Vow to meet business deadlines - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
