Full Job Description

The Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing a team of highly skilled engineers and auto CAD operators to design and draft electrical controls drawings and various supporting documentation.


The Engineering manager is able to create and read control drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and technical scopes and train and direct others to do the same while having the ability to learn and adapt to various customer specifications. The engineering manager must also be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees within ASE and customer's including project managers, engineers, and various customer management teams.


  • Creates and documents internal engineering department procedures that benefit the company overall. Works with all department leads to analyze impacts and create company awareness of changes.
  • Check the technical accuracy of work as it applies to drawing packages, specifications, and other department created documentation.
  • Takes input and is responsible for correcting any existing or new engineering techniques and processes that are negatively impacting projects, installations, or production.
  • Responsible for maintaining a department schedule and meeting deadlines required of the engineering department.
  • Analyze internal engineering workload demands vs available resources to advise Operations manager of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.
  • Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and CAD operators.
  • Write performance reviews and solve internal issues.
