Regional Organizational Change Manager
 
Ensure successful and sustainable implementation of the AkzoNobel transformation and change initiatives at regional level through effective change management interventions and a change network supporting the business, the functions and the work streams.
Partner at strategic level with the regional leaders; work closely with business/functional management and the Central OCM leads to identify the change management need and translate that into a regional change management strategy and implementation plan.
Make sure the change management initiatives are delivered in a consistent way (in line with the central methodology, tools, timing) and fit for regional purpose aligning and catering for the “Regional changes and overall Regional Transformation story” in line with overall Transformation story. Oversees, coordinates, aligns and drives the change management initiatives in the region.
Deploy and build change management capabilities in the region. Take ownership of the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the use of the AkzoNobel change management framework give support to local change agents in delivering the transformation and changes.
Work in close cooperation with the Regional HR Director, the Local Transformation lead and Communications. Responsible for building change management capabilities in the region and country organization through training, coaching and ensuring quality control (of the use if the tools and materials and the support given in the changes/transformation) in a way that the changes are sustainable.
Liaise closely with regional business management as well as the (transformation) project teams. Is active part of the central OCM team and the Culture team and gives input to continuous improvement/best practice sharing.
 
Key Tasks Responsibilities and Outputs:
 
  1. Change management excellence:
    1. Continuously improve the effective deployment of the central OCM approach and materials.
    2. Ensure central OCM approach and tools are known and easily accessible across the region.
    3. Drive change/project managers across the region to use the central OCM approach and materials.
    4. Ensure high quality of the change management plans on regional and country level.
    5. Ensure alignment of the different plans in the different businesses and functions in the region.

  2. Change management delivery:
    1. Help shape and deliver the AkzoNobel people Transformation in the region.
    2. Train and coach change managers/project managers on regional level in the effective use of the OCM approach and the materials for seamless delivery.
    3. Support change managers/project managers on regional level in making their change plan(s).
    4. Support change managers/project managers in the execution and seamless Delivery of their plans.
  1. Capability building:
    1. Build a regional change agent network.
    2. Ensuring the central OCM approach is deployed effectively through training, coaching,  tools and other support materials.
    3. Coach and support the local change managers to use the central OCM approach and materials.
    4. Coach, train and support regional leaders on their change management capabilities and ensure they the central OCM approach and materials effectively.
    5. Feedback to central OCM team the learnings on regional/local level to continuously improve the central approach, tools and materials.

  2. Transformation storyline:
    1. Responsible for the delivery of AkzoNobel, Function and Business Transformation storylines for the region.
    2. Work closely with Regional HR Director, Local Transformation Leads and Regional Communications in supporting them with the overall „Change storyline” in the region.
    3. Support local change managers and local HR in creating their local change storyline, based on the Regional storyline.

  3. Culture:
              Align with and support the Culture team to strengthen the initiatives of both the OCM and the Culture team.
  1. Representing OCM:
           a.       Ensuring OCM is recognized as a knowledge center, and as provider of excellent support (with the appropriate hard and soft skills) across the region and with senior leadership
            b.        Role model the values and behaviors that AkzoNobel in general and OCM specifically stand for.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • University or Master degree plus at least 7 years work experience, in OCM, HR or other functions with tangible change management and transformational leadership experience and a proven track record of delivering large and complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Geographical experience in at least 3 regions and/or multiple different countries
  • Highly polished and professional behaviors, comfortable presenting and influencing at senior level.
  • Competent professional with the ability to provide strategic OCM input and translate it into tactical and operational implementation plan for the region.
  • Stakeholder and influencing skills.
  • Can deal with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Able to translate theory into practice and the other way around.
  • Experience in multinational matrix organization.
  • Excellent communicator, both in communication with specialists and with main stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English.
