Job TitleEngineering Lead - 1st Shift
Responsibilities: - Performs as an assistant supervisor to the Maintenance Supervisor by supervising and assigning maintenance staff based on workloads and schedules; assists in overseeing the repairs to equipment and machinery; develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures; ensures that staff is trained in maintenance activities and are following standard operating procedures. - Monitors and participates in operations for assigned areas including inspecting projects, developing and implementing modifications and improvements, recommending specifications and scheduling for contracts, inspecting contractor’s work to ensure safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed. - Ensures that all plant-required PPE is being used and is kept in good repair at all times - Coordinates safety training for maintenance personnel as needed - Ensures that proper safety practices are being followed by working with the supervisor and manager to drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety quality and productivity. - Learn and use Peoplesoft procurement system to order parts and supplies related to job - Learn and use EZ Entry/TPM system to set up and receive work instructions - Directs the work order system as follows: - Schedule and organize work orders with the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. - Communicate with Department Managers and Supervisors to clarify work orders. - Specify and requisition materials needed to complete approved work orders using the Peoplesoft System. - Assign work orders to specific maintenance employees. - Follow-up on assigned work orders to ensure that they are completed in an efficient and timely manner - Inspects work for completeness. - Demonstrates and assists with continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. - In the absence of the supervisor, will assume all duties and Responsibilities of that position - Adhere to normal work schedule and be able to work weekends and holidays as required. - Attend meetings as required. - Lead, supervise, and provide training/guidance to lower level technician-mechanics - Report to management any quality and safety problems and potential production problems that are encountered while performing the job - Perform all job duties in a safe manner without bodily injury to self or others - Perform all related job duties and other Responsibilities assigned by supervisor or department manager Requirements: - Relief Supervisor Training - Verifiable experience performing mechanical and/or electrical work - Verifiable experience repairing machinery - Verifiable prior training in the area of industrial maintenance The candidate chosen for this position may be hired at an interim job title and interim pay rate if all training and testing requirements for the position have not been successfully completed prior to hire/placement.
