Role purpose

The Product Placement Analytics Scientist will be responsible for developing data workflows to gain analytical insights into many pipeline performance aspects. This role will support all go-to-market functions in which Seeds Development delivers products to the Syngenta commercial unit.


* Pipeline summaries (25%)

* Data support specialist to assess viablity of late and early stage performance

* Collaborate with analytical teams to implement new analytics for product advancement

* Protoyping of new analystical and visualization tools

* Assess new visualization tools for product evaluation

* Inbred and Hybrid performance evaluations (25%)

* Summarize advancement rates for late-stage inbreds and hybrids

* Support inbred and hybrid value models for go-to-market strategies

* Support inbred and hybrid production planning activites

* Compliance support and evaluation (15%)

* Track compliance process for hybrids and inbreds

* Report compliance metrics to the commercial teams

* Collaborate with Trait Development organization to implement pipeline compliance changes as needed

* Statistacal support for key commercial units (25%)

* Key collaborator in statistical modeling and delivery for new commerical products

* Support product sales documention for commercial units

* Commercial Coolaborations support (10%)

* Support protfolio planning for early deployment

* Coolaboarte on end-to-end protofiolo visablity tools


Critical knowledge

o MS (preferably PhD) in data science with experience in quantitative genetics, biological sciences, computational biology, plant breeding, or related disciplines

o Excellent data management and visualizations skills

o Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Spotfire, or similar software

o Experience in big data management and programming language such as Phyton, SQL, or similar languages

Critical experience

o Demonstrates experience in developing and executing machine learning, data mining algorithms, statistics methodologies, and predictive models

o Knowledge of product development and marketing with thorough knowledge of germplasm, trait value, data analysis, variety / hybrid positioning within the key markets

o Excellent organization and communication

Critical technical, professional, and personal capabilities

o Excellent interpersonal skills, especially those required to successfully function as part of a cross-functional team

o Ability to understand and communicate complex instructions

o Excellent presentation skills to a diverse set of audiences and key stakeholders

o Ability to work autonomously

o Ability to interact effectively with grower / customer
