Senior Accounting Analyst - Revenue Accounting job in Yonkers at The Execu | Search Group

A travel organization in New York is actively seeking a hardworking a driven professional to join their Revenue Accounting team as their new Senior Accounting Analyst. In this role, the Senior Accounting Analyst maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. 

Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Analyst will:

• Prepare analysis to ensure accurate expense recognition in accordance of GAAP
• Oversee accruals, provisions, account reconciliations, and other month-end close activity
• Oversee the posting, balancing, and reconciliation of accounting activity for the business unit
• Review long-term contracts in order to prepare accounting impact analysis
• Execute Analyst work as needed to ensure smooth team workflow
• Assist Senior Manager in coordinating month-end Close and ensuring all deadlines are met
• Deliver accurate, thorough, well-presented, and actionable ad-hoc analyses under restrictive time constraints
• Prepare and / or review Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Variance Analyses to explain business dynamics that drive changes in Balance Sheet accounts
• Drive timely collections of Receivables by communicating with customers and Sales and Marketing personnel
• Lead implementation of process improvements to streamline accounting, reporting, and analytical functions
• Lead and coordinate team responses to internal and external audit requests
• Ensure adherence to revenue recognition policies and procedures

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
• 5-7 years of experience in Accounting in roles of progressively greater responsibility
• JD Edwards fluency
• Public Accounting background
• Revenue / AR Accounting experience

• CPA or Master's degree
