POSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for maintaining the financial records for the property. She/He verifies, allocates and posts details of business transactions to accounts or computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs and computer records. As required, she/he performs other duties such as maintenance of the resident information systems or resident files, reconciliations, and interacts with residents and banks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A bookkeeper’s duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
WORK SCHEDULE:
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS: Performance is measured on closing ratio as well as availability, occupancy and market conditions.
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree preferred. Two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Excel spreadsheets (intermediate level) and accounting software – MRI preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as income statements, operating budgets, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Individual should have strong mathematical skills and abilities.
REASONING ABILITY
: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
