Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally.  Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital.  We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

Commercial Banking provides local service and decision-making, a comprehensive suite of products, and industry expertise to serve the diverse financial needs of Business Banking, Middle Market, and Government and Institutional Banking customers. Commercial Banking is structured with three regions, East, Central and West, in addition to a Specialized Industries group and Chief Operating Officer Team. The Commercial Banking team is comprised of experienced and accomplished relationship managers and industry specialists working together to bring the full range of Wells Fargo’s services to customers from offices across the United States and Canada.

The Commercial Banking Cross Segment Leader is responsible for managing Commercial Banking relationship managers across both Middle Market and Business Banking segments within a regional market or specialty industry.
 
Duties include:
Collaborating with Market Executives in developing annual business plans and directing the group in execution of these plans; actively participating in the completion of major transactions; close coordination with the portfolio management team on credit review and loan workout functions to ensure appropriate risk management. Oversees the delivery of a one Commercial Banking experience by coordinating RMs in all commercial banking segments across the regional market or specialty industry. May direct the business of originating credit related products, treasury management products, and investment banking/capital markets products. Partners with RM Leaders in other commercial banking segments across the regional market or specialty industry to deliver a one Commercial Banking experience to our clients. Partners with other product partners including but not limited to FX, Interest Rate Risk, Wealth and Merchant Card to attract and retain customers with an appropriate credit risk and operational risk lens to grow revenue and profits. Close collaboration and engagement with the Portfolio Management team while still maintaining ownership of the risk. Coordinates with the service teams to deliver exceptional customer service. Exercises the usual authority of a manager in identifying and acquiring key talent, training, motivating and developing team members.

• Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.



Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of commercial banking relationship management experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience


Desired Qualifications

  • Commercial credit experience involving commercial or specialty group relationship portfolio credit
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, compliance, and underwriting requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial or specialty group banking products, and the credit practices/operating risks associated with them
  • Ability to motivate others to greater performance
  • Ability to successfully exceed goals with a results focus
  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years of management experience


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
