Microbiology Supervisor, Analytical Development -Nashville, TN

Kelly Scientific Resources is seeking top talent for an exciting opportunity within our client's Analytical Development team as a Microbiology Supervisor! Job Summary: The Microbiology Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of up to 3 microbiologists, performing environmental monitoring sampling of ISO class environments, and assisting with preparation, characterization, and identification of environmental isolates. He/she will perform raw material testing, drug product testing, method development and cGMP support. Responsibilities:

  • Perform environmental monitoring in ISO Class 5, 6, 7, & 8 environments
  • Support microbiology laboratory operations
  • Lead the method development and suitability activities for microbiology methods of new products
  • Provide SME (Subject Matter Expert) support in the area of microbiology for laboratory and manufacturing operations.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot equipment, testing, and process abnormalities
  • Accurately document all necessary and relevant information in a clear and concise manner per cGMPs
  • Author, revise, and review standard operating procedures, test methods, work instructions, and protocols
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe laboratory work area
  • Mentor, train, and lead microbiology staff
  • Ability to mentor and lead microbiology staff

  Requirements:

  • B.S. in Biology (or related) and 6+ years of pharmaceutical experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • The ability to work flexible hours on short notice due to manufacturing demand
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
